F1 5th Place Championship, Rules

The rules are simple, first of all have fun.

Important

You must vote before Qualifying starts each week (before Q1 begins), entries submitted after this time will not count.

Votes are submitted for

  • Qualifying, you vote for 5th place, you score if your driver qualifies 3rd to 7th.
  • Race, you vote for 5th place, this follows the normal F1 points style, with the biggest reward for hitting 5th, and points for near-misses from 3rd to 7th.
  • Fastest Lap, you vote for the driver who will set the 5th fastest lap, you score if they finish 3rd to 7th in the fastest lap ranking.
  • Fastest Pitstop, you vote for the team who will record the 5th fastest pitstop, you score if they finish 3rd to 7th in the pitstop ranking.

How scoring works

You always vote for 5th, but you can still score points if your pick ends up close, anywhere from 3rd to 7th.

New for 2026: the maximum you can score in a single race weekend is 55 points.

Other rules

  • Votes must be submitted before Q1 starts each race weekend (e.g. if Q1 starts at 12:00 then votes must be in before 12:00).
  • Grid penalties are processed on race day, not in qualifying, so if the driver you vote for qualifies 5th but later takes a grid penalty, your qualifying score still stands.
  • Voting is done right here on the website
  • You can change your vote as many times as you like as long as it is in before Q1, it is always worth putting a banker in if you think you might not get time later.
  • Banker votes: you can also vote for all upcoming races in advance, so you’re covered if you miss a weekend.
